Which surfaces should I clean more often?
If a virus enters the house, frequently touched surfaces will likely become contaminated. These usually include doorknobs, light switches, faucets, sinks, toilets, tables, desks, kitchen countertops and electronics (such as phones, tablets, tv remotes etc.)
If you suspect a surface could be contaminated, clean it with a common household disinfectant. You can use 70% alcohol for smaller surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches and touch screens. Even if you’re wearing gloves when cleaning, you should wash your hands carefully afterwards, and keep them away from your face at all times.
Remember to ventilate when disinfecting with strong chemicals, and be mindful when cleaning, so as not to re-contaminate surfaces. Use paper towels or disposable wipes to clean if you can. You can also use rags and wash them in the washing machine after you’re done.
